Green packaging design is a packaging design process that takes environment and resources as the core concepts. Specifically, it refers to selecting appropriate green packaging materials and using green process methods to structurally shape and beautify packaging products.
Material elements
The material elements include basic materials (paper materials, plastic materials, glass materials, metal materials, ceramic materials, bamboo wood materials, leather materials, and other composite materials) and auxiliary materials (adhesives, coatings, inks, etc.). It is the material foundation for realizing the three major functions of packaging (protection, convenience, and sales), directly related to the overall function and economic cost of packaging, production and processing methods, and the recycling and utilization of packaging waste,
The material selection in green packaging design should follow the following principles:
Lightweight, thin, easily separable, and high-performance packaging materials;
Recyclable and renewable packaging materials;
Food packaging materials;
Degradable packaging materials;
Natural ecological energy packaging materials developed using natural resources;
Use paper packaging as much as possible,
Try to use the same materials for packaging as much as possible
Try to make the packaging reusable as much as possible, not just the packaging materials that can be recycled and reused. (Just like a standardized tray that can be reused dozens or even thousands of times)
